Electrical checking of the solenoid valve N18
Electrical checking of the solenoid valve -N18-
Carry out the electrical checking of the EGR valve -N18- in the following manner:
–  Switch ignition off.
–  Remove connector from exhaust gas recirculation valve.
   
–  With manual multimeter -V.A.G 1526 A- and adapter cables -V.A.G 1594A-, measure the resistance between the contacts of the solenoid valve.
   Specification: 14 ... 18 Ω
  Note!
t  With the engine at ambient temperature, the measured resistance in the lower tolerance field.
t  With the engine at service temperature, the measured resistance in the upper tolerance field.
If the specification is not reached, replace the EGR -N18-.
If the specification is reached, electrically check the wiring.
