Drive of the belt with tensioning roller Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Counterhold tool -T20167-

t  Open-end 16. -T 10241-   Note t  If any faults are observed, the Poly-V belt should be immediately replaced to avoid malfunction. t  There is no need to readjust the tension of the Poly-V belt, since a spring-driven tension device always guarantees optimum belt tension.

Removal: –  Remove the sound proofing from the engine by pulling forcefully upwards -arrows- .   Note

Before removing the ribbed belt, mark its running direction with chalk or with a felt tipped pen. Running a used belt in the opposite direction could destroy it. –  To slacken off poly V-belt, swivel belt tensioner in -direction of arrow-. The socket wrench 16 -T 10241- can be used for this purpose.

–  Immobilise the tensioner of the Poly-V belt with the counterhold -T20167--arrow-. –  Remove poly V-belt. Installing Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:   Note t  Ensure, before installing Poly-V belt, that all ancillaries (alternator, air conditioning compressor) are secured tightly. t  When fitting the Poly-V belt, ensure that it is fitted with the correct direction of rotation and that it is correctly seated on the pulleys. t  For those vehicles not fitted with air conditioning, fit the Poly-V belt lastly on the alternator. t  For those vehicles fitted with air conditioning, fit the ribbed belt lastly on the compressor for the air conditioning. t  Start engine and check that belt runs properly.
