Safety precautions when working on the fuel system
  WARNING
When doing any repair work, especially in the engine compartment, pay attention to the following due to the cramped conditions:
All the various lines (e.g. fuel, hydraulic system, active carbon filter system, coolant, refrigerant, brake fluid and vacuum pipes and hoses) and electrical wiring must be installed in their original positions.
Ensure that there is sufficient clearance to all moving or hot components.
  WARNING
The fuel and the fuel lines may become excessively hot (burn risk).
The fuel supply system is also under pressure. Before opening the system, place a cloth over the junction and depressurise the system by gently loosening.
For all assembly work carried out on the fuel supply system, protective glasses and gloves must be worn!
For removal and fitting the fuel level sender or the fuel pump (fuel supply unit) when the fuel tank is full or partially full, observe the following:
l  Before commencing work, switch on exhaust extraction system and place an extraction hose close to the sender opening in the fuel tank to extract escaping fuel fumes. If no exhaust extraction system is available, a radial fan (as long as motor is not in air flow) with a displacement greater than 15 m³/h can be used.
l  Avoid skin contact with the fuel! Use fuel resistant gloves!
