Removing and installing exhauster pump
Removing and installing exhauster pump
  DANGER!
The vacuum pump may, under no circumstances, be dismantled as the vacuum part could otherwise malfunction. The brake servo could fail as a result.
»Carry out the following work sequence«
Removal:
–  Remove air filter housing with air mass meter and connecting pipe → Chapter.
   
–  Disconnect the vacuum line -1- from the vacuum pump.
–  Unscrew securing bolts of charge air pipe → Item, then push charge air pipe down slightly to gain access to rear threaded connection of vacuum pump.

–  Unscrew vacuum pump securing bolts -arrows-.
–  Remove vacuum pump from cylinder head.
Installation
Tightening torques → Chapter
Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence; note the following:
  Note
t  Ensure that vacuum pump coupling seats properly in camshaft.
t  Renew exhauster pump seal.
–  Install vacuum pump and tighten securing bolts to 10 Nm.
–  Connect brake servo vacuum line to vacuum pump -1-.
