Measures in the 1st case
–  Do not switch on the ignition.
–  Using the fuel tank with the fuel drainage equipment -VAS 5190-, extract the fuel as far as possible through the filler neck:
–  Fold down the rear seat forwards. → Bodywork, interior fitting work; Rep. gr.72.
–  Raise cover of fuel delivery unit.
   
–  Pull the fuel supply line (black or black marking) -A- from the fuel supply unit.
–  Connect the line of the pressure tester -VAS 6550/1- to the fuel supply line -A-.
–  Guide the open end of the line into a suitable container.
–  Connect a vehicle diagnostics tester and perform the guided function „Electrical fuel pump(s): perform“ test.
  Note
The fuel pump is now activated for 30 seconds.
–  Repeat this procedure until the fuel tank has been emptied completely.
–  Fill 5 litres of Diesel fuel into the tank and perform the guided function „Electrical fuel pump(s): check“ empty.

–  Connect the fuel supply line (black or with black markings) -A- back onto the fuel supply unit.
–  Fill the tank full with diesel fuel.
–  Perform road test.
