Removing and installing poly V-belt

Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Counterhold tool -T20167-

Removing

Note

Insert the changed tensioning element in stages. Consider the various work sequences.

–	Now, mark direction of rotation of poly V-belt.

–	Turn the tensioning element in the -direction of the arrow- until the drill hole is visible. Lock tensioner with retention tool -T20167-.

–	Remove the ribbed belt.

Installing

Note

When fitting the Poly-V belt, make sure that it is correctly seated on the pulleys.

Belt drive without air-conditioner compressor

1 -	Coolant pump - pulley

2 -	Tensioning roller

3 -	Pulley/alternator

4 -	Poly-V belt

5 -	Crankshaft toothed belt wheel

Belt routing with air conditioning

1 -	Coolant pump - pulley

2 -	Tensioning roller

3 -	Pulley/alternator

4 -	Guide roller

5 -	Pulley/air-conditioning compressor

6 -	Poly-V belt

7 -	Crankshaft toothed belt wheel

Install in the reverse order to removal.
