Operation process
  WARNING
During the test drive, the testing and measuring equipment must always be fastened to the back seat.
When driving, only the passengers can handle this equipment, never the driver.
–  Apply handbrake.
–  Manual gearbox: Put the gear lever in neutral position.
With the engine off, connect the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 5051B- as follows:
–  Open the cover of the diagnosis connection.

–  Connect the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 5051B- via the 5m cable -VAS 5051/6B- to the connector.
–  Start engine and run at idling speed.
Only when engine does not start:
–  Switch on ignition.
–  Briefly press the key „Vehicle self diagnosis“.

Indicated on the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 5051B-:
–  Select vehicle system „01 - Engine electronics“ in menu -1-.
–  Wait until the following is displayed.

Indicated on the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 5051B-:
–  Select function „02 - Interrogate fault memory“.
–  If no fault is stored in engine control unit „0 fault(s) detected“ is displayed.
–  If faults are stored in the engine control unit, they are shown one below the other on the display.
–  Press the button.
–  Select function „05 - Erase fault memory“.
–  Press function „06-End output“.
