Removing and installing injectors
Removing and installing injectors
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1331-
Carry out the following work:
Removal:
  W00-0427
–  Press locking lugs -arrows- and pull intake connection off -1- in -direction of arrow-.
  N15-10721
–  Disconnect hose -1- at air cleaner housing.
–  Pull air filter housing upwards off studs at positions -2- and -3-.
  N15-10722
–  Release plug connectors -1- and -2- and pull off.
–  Unclip retaining clips -3- for wiring harness from fuel rail.
  WARNING
Fuel supply pipes are pressurised. Wear eye protection and protective gloves to avoid injuries and skin contact. Before loosening hose connections, wrap a cloth around the connection. Then release pressure by carefully pulling hose off connection.

–  Unlock and disconnect fuel supply line -1- → Fuel supply system - Petrol engines; Rep. gr.20.
–  Open line guide -3- and detach hoses.
–  Seal line so that fuel system is not contaminated by dirt.

–  Unscrew bolts -2- from intake manifold.
–  Pull fuel rail -7- with injectors -4- out of the intake manifold.
–  Carefully remove retaining clip -5- of injector to be removed.
–  Pull off injector from fuel rail.
Installation
Installation is in the reverse sequence of removal. Note the following:
–  Renew seals.
–  Before installing, lightly coat seals with clean engine oil.
–  Ensure proper seating of seals.
–  Observe installation position of retaining clips.
–  Ensure proper seating of injectors -4- on injector seat -6-.
