Cylinder head: removal and refitting
Cylinder head: removal and refitting
Check the compression → Chapter.
   
  Note!
t  When an exchange cylinder head is fitted with the camshaft in place, the contact surfaces between the pushers and the sliding tracks of the cams must be oiled before fitting the cylinder head cover.
t  The plastic bases included to protect the open valves must be removed only a moment before the cylinder head is fitted.
t  After replacing the cylinder head, all of the coolant must be replaced.
1 - Upper element of the toothed belt protector
2 - Toothed belt
q   Before removing, mark the turning direction
q   Check for wear
q   Do not bend
q   Removal and refitting, tensioning → Chapter
3 - 20 Nm
4 - 20 Nm
5 - 45 Nm
6 - Camshaft pinion
q   Remove using extractor -T20119-
7 - Tensioner roller
q   Check the semiautomatic tensioner roller of the toothed belt → Chapter
8 - Return roller
9 - Rear protector of the toothed belt
10 - 10 Nm
11 - Eye
12 - Cylinder head bolt
q   Replace
q   Note the assembly order for loosening and tightening → Chapter; Cylinder head: removal and refitting
13 - Cylinder head cover
q   With vulcanised seal
14 - Sealing sleeve
q   Replace if worn
15 - Stopper
q   Replace the seal if it is worn
16 - Breather pipe
17 - Pressure regulator valve
q   For the engine block breather
18 - Seal
q   Replace if worn
19 - Injection pipes
q   Tighten to 25 Nm
q   Remove with -U-40072-
q   Remove the complete set of pipes
q   Do not alter the bends
20 - Vacuum pump
q   For servobrake amplifier
21 - Seal
q   Replace
22 - Injector
q   Removal and refitting: Diesel direct injection system: repair; Injectors: repairing → Rep. Gr.23
23 - Glow plug
q   15 Nm
q   Check: → Rep. Gr.28
24 - Cylinder head gasket
q   Replace
q   Note the identification → Fig.
q   After replacing, change all the coolant

   
Checking the cylinder head for deformation
Maximum admissible deformation: 0.1 mm
  Note!
Diesel cylinder heads may not be corrected.

Identification of the cylinder head gasket
t  Spare number = -arrow 1-
t  Code for the effects of management = -arrow 2- (not considered!)
t  Holes = -arrow 3-
  Note!
Depending on the prominence measurement of the pistons, cylinder head gaskets of different thicknesses will be fitted. On replacing the gasket, change it for one with the same identification.
