Fitting
Fitting
–  Make sure the TDC mark on the flywheel lines up with the reference mark.
–  Loosen the fixing bolt of the camshaft pinion one turn.
  Note!
Loosen and tighten the bolt fixing the camshaft using tool -T20018A-, never using the adjustment rule as a countersupport.

–  Separate the camshaft pinion using the extractor -T20119-. Use a spanner as a countersupport.
–  Withdraw the camshaft pinion.
–  Fit the toothed belt on the pinion of the toothed belt-crankshaft.
–  Return roller, the pinion of the injection pump and the tensioner roller (note the turning direction).
–  Insert the camshaft pinion in the toothed belt and fix the camshaft pinion in such a way that it is still able to turn.

–  Tension the toothed belt. To this effect, turn the spanner -U-30009A- with the eccentric clockwise until the notch and the protuberance -arrows- line up.
  Note!
t  If the eccentric was turned excessively, the tensioner roller should be loosened completely and tensioned once more. Not only the eccentric should be turned back the measurement it was turned excessively.

t  Make sure that the fixing hook seats correctly in the rear protector of the toothed belt -arrow-.
–  Tighten the nut provided on the tensioner bolt.
   Torque: 20 Nm
–  Check the TDC mark on the flywheel once more.
–  Tighten the fixing bolt of the camshaft pinion.
   Torque: 45 Nm
  Note!
Loosen and tighten the bolt fixing the camshaft using tool -T20018A-, never using the adjustment rule as a countersupport.
–  Remove the adjustment rule -T20038- from the camshaft.
–  Remove the pin -T20102-.
–  Turn the crankshaft two turns in the direction of the engine until TDC is found once more in cylinder 1.
–  Check: whether the TDC mark on the flywheel is correct, whether the adjustment rule fits in the camshaft, whether the pin -T20102- fits in the injection pump, whether the tensioner roller is correctly adjusted (notch and protu bernace lined up).
–  If the notch and the protuberance do not line up, tension the tensioner roller → Chapter.
–  Fit the vacuum pump for servobrake.
   Torque: 20 Nm
–  Fit the antivibrator/pulley.
   Torque: 10 Nm + 1/4 turn (90°)
–  Fit the protectors of the toothed belt and the cylinder head cover.
–  Fit the poly-V → Chapter.
–  Fit the upper element of the intake manifold → Chapter.
–  Check and dynamically adjust the start of the injection: → Rep. Gr.23
