Depression valve: check
Depression valve: check
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Manual vacuum pump -SAT 1390-
  W00-2716
t  Vacuum gauge comparator -V.A.G 1368-
Check condition
l  The engine must be switched off
Checking process
–  Dismount the air filter → Fig.
–  Extract the depression valve -1- → Item
–  Couple the depression valve to the vacuum gauge -V.A.G 1368-“intake A” (the arrow on the depression valve 1 points towards the -V.A.G 1368-).

–  Couple up the manual vacuum pump -SAT 1390- to the vacuum gauge checking device -V.A.G 1368-“intake B”.
–  Put the vacuum gauge checking device into position -A/B-
–  Work the manual vacuum pump -SAT 1390- several times. No depression must be created.
  Note!
In the rest state, the depression valve is open
If depression is created:
–  Replace the depression valve.
If no depression arises:
  E24-0136
–  Cover the mouth -2- of the depression valve.
–  Take out the depression valve by hand.
–  Work the manual vacuum pump -SAT 1390- several times until the valve closes, a click noise should be heard.
  Note!
The depression valve shall close with a depression of between 250 and 350 mbar.
If the valve does not close:
–  Replace the depression valve.
