Checking overrun shut-off valve

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Hand vacuum pump -SAT 1390-

Test conditions

l	Reduced performance or load change judders

l	Turbocharger noisy when throttle valve is closed

Test sequence

Note!

The overrun shut-off valve is located in front of the turbocharger. It is opened by vacuum pressure during the overrun phase and at idling speed.

–	Connect hand vacuum pump -SAT 1390- to vacuum connection on overrun shut-off valve.

–	Operate hand vacuum pump overrun valve must open -arrow-.

–	Operate vent valve on hand vacuum pump overrun valve must close -arrow-.

Overrun valve does not open or close, renew valve.

Note!

The overrun shut-off valve connections must be secured with spring-type clips.
