| Pull vent hose -1- from active carbon filter off solenoid valve -2-. |

| Connect to hose -1- the hand pump -SAT 1390- and the vacuum tester -VAG 1368- using the adaptor -SAT 1368/1-, as shown in illustration. |
| –
| Put vacuum tester -VAG 1368- in position -A/B-. |
| –
| Operate hand pump -SAT 1390-several times. A vacuum must not build up. |
| –
| Check pressure connection -3-located on bottom of active carbon filter -4- for soiling, clean if necessary. |
| If a vacuum does not build up: |
| –
| Temporarily seal breather connection -3- and operate vacuum pump again several times: generate pression (the vacuum closure valve of the active carbon filter should close). |
| If a vacuum does not build up: |
| –
| Renew active carbon filter. |
