Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Adaptor -SAT 1368/1-
t  Hand pump -SAT 1390-
t  Vacuum tester -VAG 1368-

Test requirements
l  Ignition OFF
Test sequence
   
–  Pull vent hose -1- from active carbon filter off solenoid valve -2-.
–  Connect to hose -1- the hand pump -SAT 1390- and the vacuum tester -VAG 1368- using the adaptor -SAT 1368/1-, as shown in illustration.
–  Put vacuum tester -VAG 1368- in position -A/B-.
–  Operate hand pump -SAT 1390-several times. A vacuum must not build up.
If a vacuum builds up:
–  Check pressure connection -3-located on bottom of active carbon filter -4- for soiling, clean if necessary.
If a vacuum does not build up:
–  Temporarily seal breather connection -3- and operate vacuum pump again several times: generate pression (the vacuum closure valve of the active carbon filter should close).
If a vacuum does not build up:
–  Renew active carbon filter.
