Removal
–  Remove toothed belt → Chapter, Toothed belt: removing, installing and tensioning

–  Secure the crankshaft pulley -1- tightening the bolt -2- with two washers.
–  Position crankshaft at TDC cylinder 1: The tooth ground down on the toothed belt sprocket must align with mark on the oil pump -arrow-.
  Note!
Note that on the oil pump/sealing holder cover there are two TDC marks, one small one for 4V engines (right-hand side) and another longer mark for 2V engines (left-hand side). Do not confuse the marks on setting the crankshaft at TDC or there could be serious damage to the engine.

–  Turn crankshaft/toothed belt sprocket three teeth anti-clockwise away from TDC: The third tooth on the right of the ground down tooth -A- must coincide with the TDC mark on the oilpump casing -arrow-.
  Note!
This procedure moves the crankshaft to the correct installation position for the oil pump assembly. One of the polygon cams on the crankshaft is uppermost.
–  Remove the crankshaft toothed belt sprocket from the crankshaft and remove the tensioner roller from the toothed belt.
–  Remove sump → Chapter.
–  Remove suction pipe → Item.
–  Remove oil pump.
  Note!
To remove the oil pump from air-conditioned vehicles, it will be necessary to partially displace the vane pump-compressor-alternator support.
–  Remove gasket.
–  Remove sealant remnants on cylinder block with a flat scraper.
–  Clean sealing surfaces, they must be oil and grease free.
