Removing and installing oil filter bracket with engine oil cooler Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter. Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Extractor -SAT 1100-, see equivalent → Anchor

t  Pliers for spring-loaded band-type clamps -VAS 6499-, see equivalent → Anchor t  Collecting tray -VAS 6208-, see equivalent → Anchor t  Lever -80 200-, see equivalent → Anchor

Removal: –  Loosen the engine cover at the locations -arrows- and remove. Altea - Altea XL - Leon –  Remove the air filter housing → Chapter. –  Remove cowling → Chapter. Ibiza –  Remove the air conduit guard → Chapter All other vehicles continued –  Drain coolant → Chapter.

–  Remove oil filter element.

–  Remove air hose, loosen hose clips -1- and -2- for this.

–  Remove bolts -arrows-. –  Free coolant hose -3-. –  Release the hose clamp -2-. –  Disconnect electrical connection -1- on charge pressure sender -G31-/intake air temperature sensor -G42- and remove right charge air pipe.

–  Pull oil dipstick out slightly and remove bolt -1-. –  Hang out the clip -2- using the lever -80 200-. –  Pull oil dipstick guide tube off cylinder block upwards and push to side.

–  Place the Drip tray -VAS 6208- under the separation area. –  Release hose clip -1- and detach coolant hose. –  Place the used oil collection and extraction unit -SAT 1100- below engine. –  Unscrew bolts -arrows- and remove oil filter bracket with engine oil cooler. Installation l  Tightening torques → Chapter Installation is carried out in reverse order, noting the following:   Note t  Renew gaskets, seals and O-rings. t  Hose connections and air pipes and hoses must be free from oil and grease before fitting. t  Secure all hose connections with the correct type of hose clips (same as original equipment) → Electronic parts catalogue. –  Install oil filter element, replenish engine oil and check oil level → Chapter. –  Replenish coolant in cooling system, change coolant if engine oil cooler has been renewed → Chapter.
