1 - Notched belt
q   Before removing, mark direction of rotation with chalk or felt-tip pen
q   Check for wear
q   Removing → Chapter
q   Fitting (adjusting the valve timing) → Chapter
2 - 120 Nm + 1/4 turn (90°) further
q   Replace
q   Loosen and tighten with retention tool -3415-
q   Do not additionally oil or grease the threads and shoulder
q   Turning further can be done in several stages.
3 - Crankshaft gear
q   Contact surface between timing belt sprocket and crankshaft must be free of oil.
q   Can only be fitted in one position
4 - 20 Nm
5 - Guide roller
6 - 20 Nm and then turn 45° further
7 - Tensioning roller
q   Remove engine bracket in order to remove and install → Chapter
8 - 25 Nm
9 - Cogwheel for timing belt
10 - 15 Nm
11 - 100 Nm
12 - Camshaft hub
q   Use counterhold tool -T10051- to loosen and tighten.
q   To remove, use puller -T10052A-.
q   removing and fitting → Chapter
13 - Toothed belt cover (rear)
14 - 20 Nm
15 - 10 Nm
q   Replace
16 - Guide roller
17 - 50 Nm and then turn 90° further
18 - Hub for the high pressure pump
q   Use counterhold tool -T10051- to loosen and tighten.
q   To remove use the extractor -T40064-
19 - 95 Nm
20 - Gear wheel of the high-pressure pump
21 - 20 Nm
22 - Coolant pump
q   removing and fitting → Chapter
23 - 15 Nm
24 - Upper protection element for the notched belt
25 - Toothed belt cover (bottom)
26 - 9 Nm
q   Replace
27 - 10 Nm and then turn 90° further
q   Replace
28 - Belt pulley and vibration damper
q   Can only be installed in one position, holes are offset.
q   removing and fitting → Chapter
29 - 5 Nm
q   Only fitted with protective plate from → Electronic parts catalogue (ETKA)
30 - Protective plate
31 - 40 Nm and then turn 180° further
q   Replace
q   Observe tightening sequence → Fig..
32 - Engine support
q   removing and fitting → Chapter
