Checking voltage supply of fuel system pressurisation pumpG6
Checking voltage supply of fuel system pressurisation pump -G6-
Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Manual multimeter -VAG 1526D-, see equivalent → Anchor
  W00-10706
t  Adapter -VAS 5565-, see equivalent → Anchor
Test prerequisites
l  Fuses must be OK.
l  Battery voltage 12 V
l  All electrical consumers, e.g. lights and rear window heating, must be switched off.
Altea - Altea XL - Leon
–  Remove rear right seat → Bodywork - Interior fitting work; Rep. gr.72.
–  Detach carpet under seats and fold it back.
–  Remove cover of fuel delivery unit.
Ibiza
–  Fold rear seat bench forwards.
–  Remove cover of fuel delivery unit.
All other vehicles continued
–  Switch on the ignition. The fuel pump must be heard to run for about 2 seconds.
–  Switch ignition OFF.
If the fuel pump does not run:
–  Pull connector off fuel delivery unit flange.
–  Connect the adapter -VAS 5565- between the connector and the flange.

–  Connect the multimeter -VAG 1526D- to the contacts -1- and -5- of the adapter.
–  Connect the diagnosis device -VAS 505xx- and perform the guided function „electric fuel pump: check “.
  Note
The fuel pump is now activated for 30 seconds.
–  Read off the voltage value on the multimeter -VAG 1526D-: Specification: about the battery voltage.
If no voltage is present:
–  Check the activation of the pump relay and the cables to see if there is a false contact or short circuit. → Vehicle diagnostic tester
Speedometer must be okay.
Altea - Altea XL - Leon
–  Remove fuel delivery unit → Chapter.
Ibiza
–  Remove fuel delivery unit → Chapter.
–  Check that electrical wiring between flange and fuel pump is connected and has continuity.
If there is cable integrity:
Altea - Altea XL - Leon
–  Replace fuel delivery unit → Chapter.
Ibiza
–  Replace fuel delivery unit → Chapter.
