When fitting new pistons or a lighter engine, the positions of the pistons in TDC must be verified. Depending on the protrusion measure of the pistons, fit a corresponding cylinder head gasket, according to the following table:
  E13-0026
Piston protrusionNotch/hole
identification
0.91 mm … 1.00 mm1
1.01 mm … 1.10 mm2
1.11 mm … 1.20 mm3

Cylinder head identification
l  Part number = (-arrow 1-)
l  Handling code = (-arrow 2-) do not take into account
l  Holes = (-arrow 3-)
  Note
If the verification of the piston protrusion measurement returns values that differ greatly, to choose the correct gasket use the largest value.
