t  Removing → Anchor
t  Installing → Anchor.
Removing
–  First print out or memorise the control unit identification and also the previous control unit coding .
–  Switch ignition OFF.
   
–  Release connectors for control unit and pull off.

–  Separate the bracket lugs -arrows- and remove the engine control unit from the engine forwards -arrows-.
Installing
–  Place the new control unit into the retaining frame.
–  Install control unit connector and lock.
–  Check the previous coding and adjust the new control unit → Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051.
–  Match new control unit to the electronic immobiliser → Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051.
–  Consult the the new engine control unit fault memory and, if necessary, erase → Chapter.
–  Take vehicle for a test drive.
–  Interrogate the control unit fault memory again.
