Cylinder head covers: removing and installing

t	Removing → Anchor

t	Tightening torques → Anchor

Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Torque wrench -VAG 1331-, see equivalent → Anchor.

Removing

–	Separate vent hose for oil pan from cylinder head cover.

–	Tighten cylinder head cover bolts in the sequence -8 … 1-.

–	Remove cylinder head cover.

Installing

Reassembly is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:

Note

t	Replace the cylinder head cover gasket where necessary.

t	Renew bolts for cylinder head cover when seal is damaged.

t	Renew O-ring.

–	Fasten cylinder head cover in sequence -1 … 8-.

Tightening torques

Components:	Nm
Cylinder head cover to cylinder head	10 → Remark

¹⁾	Renew if damaged or leaking.
