Checking zero position adaptation forexhaust gas recirculation valve -N18-: check

Note

t	After replacing the engine control unit or the exhaust gas recirculation valve -N18- it is necessary to readapt the engine control unit and exhaust gas recirculation valve to on another → Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051.

t	Check the adaption status and the zero position before performing repair measures.

Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability between Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Central diagnosis -VAS 5051B- or central diagnosis -VAS 5052-, see equivalent → Anchor

Checking sequence

–	Connectvehicle diagnosis, measuring and information system -VAS 5051B- or vehicle diagnosis and service information system -VAS 5052- and select „01 - Engine electronics“ in the vehicle system menu. Engine must be idling.

–	From list -1-, select diagnostic function „04 - Basic setting“.

–	Enter „074“ for „display group number 074“ in zone -2- and confirm the entry by pressing the Q key.

1 -	Input the indication group number

–	Activate basic setting by touching key A.

–	Check displays in zones -1- and -4-.

4	Adaption status: ADP. runs ADP. O.K. ERROR	ADP OK → Remark

¹⁾	If the specification is not attained, check the exhaust gas recirculation valve for dirt and foreign objects; renew valve if necessary.

²⁾	If specification is not obtained: check the valve for the exhaust gas recirculation in the „guided fault finding“ check → Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051.

Note

The abbreviation „ADP“ in display zone 4 stands for „Adaption“.

–	End the function „04 - Basic adjustment“ briefly pressing the ← key.

–	Press „06 - End output“.

–	Turn the ignition off.
