Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Puller -T10050-, see equivalent → Anchor
Procedure
–  Remove vibration damper → Chapter.
  W00-0991
–  Remove the bottom and middle toothed gear guard -arrow-.
  Caution
Risk of destruction due to toothed belt jumping.
Only turn crankshaft in engine direction of rotation.
  A13-10646
–  Turn crankshaft at bolt for toothed belt sprocket until crankshaft is at „TDC“.
–  The crankshaft is locked using the crankshaft stop -T10050-.
l  The markings on the sprocket -2- and the crankshaft stop -1- must align -arrow-. The pin of the crankshaft stop must engage in the aperture in the sealing flange.
  Note
Crankshaft stop can only be pushed onto toothed belt sprocket from face end of splines.
–  Remove sump → Chapter.

–  Unscrew the bolts in the -8 ... 1- sequence and remove the balance shaft assembly together with the oil pump.
Installing
t  → Chapter „Fitting a new balance shaft assembly“.
t  → Chapter „Fitting of a used (previously fitted) balance shaft assembly“.
