Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
   
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Articulated wrench e/c 10 -VAS 3185-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Socket wrench e/c 5 - 3249-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Torque wrench (5... 50 Nm) -V.A.G 1331-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Extractor -VAG 1782-, see equivalent → Anchor

   
t  Suspension tool -10 - 222 A-, see equivalent → Anchor

   
Removing
–  Remove sump → Chapter.
–  Remove the securing ring -1- with pliers meant for securing ring.
–  Screw a M3 bolt -2- and pull out the drive shaft out of the oil pump -arrow-.
–  Unscrew the bolt -4- and remove the intake sleeve of the oil pump.
–  Unscrew bolts -3- and -5-, and take oil pump off.
  Caution
The idler gear bolt may not be released.
Installing
Installation is carried out in reverse order. The following should be taken into account:
Tightening torques → Chapter „Engine oil sump, oil pump, balance shaft assembly: Assembly overview“
  Note
t  Renew O-ring.
t  A damaged or excessively widened securing ring must be replaced.
t  The securing ring must rest against the groove base.
–  Make sure both dowel sleeves are in place before installing oil pump.
–  Install sump → Chapter.
