Checking vacuum unit for turbocharger
Checking vacuum unit for turbocharger
Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Manual vacuum pump -VAS 6213-, see equivalency → Anchor
Test prerequisite:
t  The turbocharger hose to the pressure capsule by the supercharger pressure limiter solenoid valve -N75- must not be obstructed.
t  Charge pressure control solenoid valve -N75- in good condition
Procedure:
  W00-10259
–  Unscrew both bolts -arrows- for the air pipes -1- on the lock carrier plate and remove.
  E24-10062
–  Connect the manual vacuum pump -VAS 6213- to the pressure capsule -arrow-.
  N21-10114
–  Move the ring -1- of the manual vacuum pump -VAS 6213- to position -B- for „pressure“.
  Caution
The pressure must not exceed 750 mbar. If the pressure exceeds this limit then the pressure capsule may be damaged.
–  Operate the manual vacuum pump -VAS 6213- a few times noting the rod.
The linkage -A- should start to move at a pressure of approx. 300 mbar and be at its limit stop at a pressure of approx. 700 mbar.
  N24-10282
The linkage should travel approx. 10 mm.
  Note
If it is not possible to build up pressure with hand vacuum pump -VAS 6213- or if the pressure drops again immediately, check the hand vacuum pump -VAS 6213- and connecting hoses for leaks. If no fault in lines is detected: Renew the pressure capsule → Chapter.
