Cooling system components, bodywork side - Assembly overview
1 - O-ring
q   Renew
2 - Upper coolant hose
q   Secured to radiator with retaining clips
q   Check firm seating
q   Coolant hose schematic diagram → Chapter
3 - Coolant hose
q   To preheat the crankshaft sump breather (location: In the intake manifold)
  Note
To remove the crankshaft sump breather preheating device, first dismount the intake manifold.
4 - Radiator
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   After replacing, renew coolant completely
5 - Radiator fan
q   This is mounted on the radiator with three bolts
6 - Connector
7 - Radiator fan thermoswitch -F18-, 35 Nm
q   For electric fan
Switching temperatures
q   1ª speed engaged 92 - 97 °C, disengaged 84 - 91 °C
q   2ª speed engaged 99 -105 °C, disengaged 91 -98 °C
8 - Goes to coolant pipe
q   Coolant hose schematic diagram → Chapter
9 - Expansion tank
q   Check the cooling system for leaks using the cooling system tester -V.A.G 1274- and the cooling system tester adaptor -V.A.G 1274/8-
10 - 10 Nm
11 - Plug
q   Check using the cooling system tester -V.A.G 1274- and the cooling system tester adaptor -V.A.G 1274/9-
q   Test pressure: 1.4 -1.6 bar.
12 - Lower coolant hose
q   Secured to radiator with retaining clips
q   Check firm seating
q   Coolant hose schematic diagram → Chapter
13 - Support
q   For radiator
q   Note the fitting position
