Valve shaft seals: replacing
Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability between Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter
   
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Spark plug spanner -3122 B-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Compressor tool for valve spring -3362- with pressure clip -3362/1-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Valve stem seal extractor -3364-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Tool for inserting seals onto the valve stems -3365-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Pressure hose -VW 653/3-, see equivalent → Anchor

Removing
(with cylinder head installed)
–  Remove camshaft housing → Chapter.
–  Remove roller rocker arms and place on a clean surface. Ensure that roller rocker arms are not mixed up.
–  Remove the spark plugs using the spark plug spanner -3122 B-.
–  Set piston of the respective cylinder to “bottom dead centre”.
   
–  Thread the compressor tool for the spring valve -3362- using the pressure clip -3362/1-.
–  Screw the pressure hose -VW 653/3- into the spark plug thread.
–  Connect pressure hose to a compressed air system of at least 6 bar of compressed air and remove valve springs.
–  Extract the valve guide seals using the valve guide seal extractor -3364-.
Fitting
  N15-0081
–  Fit the plastic sleeve on the valve stem being worked. This will prevent the new valve stem seal from being damaged.
–  Place new valve stem seal in fitting tool -3365-.
–  Lubricate the sealing lip of valve stem seal and carefully slide the seal onto the valve guide.
–  Fit camshaft housing → Chapter.
–  Adjust distribution timing → Chapter.
Continue installation following reverse order for removing. The following must be taken into account:
