Silencers with suspension elements - Components overview

q	Marked by impressions on connecting pipe

q	The front and rear silencers come factory fitted as one unit. For repairs, the front and rear silencer are supplied individually with a double clamp for connecting them together.

q	Cut the connecting pipe at right angles at the separation area using the bodywork saw -V.A.G 1523A- → Fig.

5 -	Rear silencer

WARNING

Wear safety goggles and appropriate clothing to avoid injury caused by metal shavings.

Cutting point on exhaust pipe

–	Cut the exhaust tube perpendicularly, on the cutting area indicated by the -arrow 2-.

–	When installing, position double clamp -4- at side markings -arrow 1- and -arrow 3-. Tightening torques: 25 Nm
