Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability between Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Torque wrench kit -SAT 8010-, see equivalent → Anchor
Removing
–  First see if the vehicle has a coded radio. If so, refer to the anti-theft code.
–  With ignition switched off, disconnect earth connection from battery.
–  Drain coolant → Chapter.
–  Remove the notched belt → Chapter.
  L00-10226
–  Unscrew the bolts -1- and -5- and remove the rear timing belt guard.
–  Unscrew the bolts from the coolant pump -4- and remove carefully.
Fitting
  Note
Always replace O-rings.
–  Clean the surface for the O-ring.
  A19-0041
–  Dampen the O-ring -3- with coolant.
–  Fit the coolant pump -4- onto the engine block. Fitting position: the cover on the gearbox is facing upwards.
–  Fit the rear timing belt guard and tighten the bolt -1-.
–  Tighten coolant pump bolts -5-.
Continue fitting, following the reverse order of the stripping process.
  Note
On reconnecting battery, remember to enable the vehicle equipment (radio/radio navigation system, clock, electric window lifters) in line with the Instructions Manual. → Instruction Manual.
