Position the crankshaft at top dead centre cylinder 1. The mark on the pulley should coincide with the mark -O-.
–
The lock holes in the camshaft pinions should coincide with the holes in the camshaft housing -arrows-.
Note!
If the marks are on the opposite side from the pinions, turn the crankshaft over once.
Immobilise the camshaft pinions with the camshaft lock -T10016-, as follows:
–
Introduce lock pins -T10016- in the lock holes of the camshaft pinions and in the holes in the camshaft housing.
Note!
Both lock pins are correctly fitted if the ends -D- are aligned with the line -A-.
–
Introduce the support -T10016--B- all the way into the intake camshaft pinion -C-.
–
Remove the right soundproofing sump.
–
Mark the direction of rotation of the Poly-V belt and remove it as follows:
–
Apply a spanner to the bolt that holds the tensioning roller and move the roller in the -direction of the arrow-.
–
Remove the Poly-V belt.
–
Loosen the bolt that holds the pulley and the toothed belt pinion; to do so, fix the pulley with the countersupport -T20018-.
–
Remove the pulley. Screw the bolt back in with two washers to retain the toothed belt pinion.
–
Remove the lower toothed belt shield.
–
Mark the direction of rotation of both belts before removing them.
Remove the main toothed belt:
–
Loosen the mounting bolt of the main belt tensioning roller -1- and loosen the toothed belt by turning the tensioning roller counter-clockwise -arrow-.
–
Remove the toothed belt.
Remove the toothed return belt:
–
Loosen the mounting bolt of the toothed return belt tensioning roller -1- and loosen the toothed belt by turning the tensioning roller clockwise -arrow-.
