Intake manifold: removing and installing t  Removing → Anchor t  Fitting → Anchor Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	T30 Allen key -T10405-

t	Socket wrench insert -T40055-, see equivalent → Anchor

t	Torque wrench (5... 50 Nm) -V.A.G 1331-, see equivalent → Anchor

t	Ratchet 1/2' x 9-12 -VAG 1331/1-, see equivalent → Anchor

Removing   WARNING t  Always read rules for cleanliness and instructions for working on fuel system → Chapter. t  Follow these instructions and rules for cleanliness before starting work and while working on the fuel system.

–  Remove engine cover panel -arrows-.   Caution Pay particular attention not to damage the wires when removing the connections, because otherwise it would be necessary to replace the entire wiring harness. Do not press pliers -3314- together excessively when removing the connection, because otherwise the bearing supports could be damaged.

–  Position pliers -3314- with groove -arrow A- on support sleeve shoulder -arrow B-.

–  Remove bolt -2- and union nuts -1 and 3- and detach high-pressure pipe.

–  Unplug electrical connectors -2 and 3-. –  Unscrew the screw -arrows- and press the line bracket to one side.   Note Ignore -item 1-.

–  Remove bolts -1 and 3-. –  Release hose clips -2 and 4- and detach fuel hoses.

–  Unscrew bolt -2- and detach pressure differential sender -G505-. –  Pull fuel lines upwards off cylinder head cover and press clear to one side.   Note Do not bend fuel lines.   Caution t  Observe rules for cleanliness when working on the injection system. t  Plug open connections with suitable sealing caps immediately.

–  Open clamp -1- and detach.   Note Ignore -item 2-.

–  Remove air hose; loosen hose clip -2- for this. –  Remove bolt -1- for dipstick guide tube. –  Unplug electrical connector -3- at throttle valve module -J338-.

–  Unscrew intake manifold bolts -arrows- in diagonal sequence starting from outside and working inwards using socket Torx T30 -T10405-. –  Remove the intake manifold. Installing Reassembly is carried out in the reverse order; note the following: –  Renew seals –  Tighten bolts securing intake manifold in diagonal sequence starting from outside and working inwards. t  Tightening torque of the intake manifold to cylinder head → Chapter t  Tightening torque of the exhaust gas recirculation joint hose → Chapter. t  Tightening torque for high-pressure pipes → Chapter.
