t  Coolant pump: Removing → Anchor
t  Coolant pump: Fitting → Anchor
Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
   
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Refractometer -T10007-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Pliers for spring-loaded band-type clamps -VAS 6340-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Torque wrench (5 - 50 Nm) -V.A.G 1331-, see equivalent → Anchor

Removing
  Note
Always replace gaskets and oil seals.
–  Drain coolant → Chapter.
–  Remove poly V-belt → Chapter.
–  Remove toothed belt → Chapter.
   
–  Remove securing bolts -1- for coolant pump -2- and carefully remove coolant pump.
–  Remove O-ring -3-.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence; note the following:

Renew O-ring.
–  Clean or smoothen the contact surface for O-ring.

–  Lubricate new O-ring -3- with coolant additive »G12+«.
–  Place the coolant pump -2- onto the cylinder block.
  Note
The coolant pump plug faces downwards.
–  Tighten securing bolts -1- to 15 Nm.
–  Install toothed belt and adjust valve timing → Chapter.
–  Install poly V-belt → Chapter.
–  Fill coolant system with coolant → Chapter.
