Removing and installing radiator
Removing and installing radiator
t  Radiator: Removing → Anchor
t  Radiator: Fitting → Anchor
Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Tray -VAS 6208-, see equivalent → Anchor

t  Pliers for spring-loaded band-type clamps -VAS 6340-, see equivalent → Anchor
Removing
  Note
Even if fitted correctly, there may be slight pressure marks on the radiator and condenser fins. This does not mean that the components are damaged. Neither radiator nor condensers are to be replaced on account of such minor pressure marks.
–  Remove cowling together with fans → Chapter.
–  Drain coolant → Chapter.
–  Bring lock plate carrier into service position: → Bodywork, exterior fitting work; Rep. gr.50.
–  Place drip tray for workshop cranes -VAS 6208- beneath engine.

–  Disconnect left upper coolant hose from radiator, lift retaining clip -arrow- when doing this.
–  Remove the bottom right coolant hose from radiator.

–  Unclip connectors -A- from the high pressure sender -G65--B-.
  Note
The item -C- can be disregarded.

–  Remove the sealing lip on the upper side of the lock carrier.
–  Remove bolts -arrows- at rear and lift out radiator.
Installing
l  Tightening torque → Chapter
Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence; note the following:

t  Renew seals and O-rings.
t  Secure all hose connections with the correct type of hose clips (same as original equipment) → Parts catalogue.
–  Install the air conduit with the fans → Chapter.
–  Fill up coolant → Chapter.
