Removing and installing ancillary bracket
Removing and installing ancillary bracket
t  Bracket for auxiliary units: Removing → Anchor
t  Bracket for auxiliary units: Fitting → Anchor
Check the tool and equipment equivalence table according to the applicability between Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Suspension tool -10 - 222 A-, see equivalent → Anchor
Removing
–  Remove engine bracket → Chapter.
–  Remove high-pressure pump → Chapter.
–  Remove the alternator → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27
  WARNING
The air conditioner refrigerant circuit must not be opened.
–  Unbolt air conditioner compressor from ancillary bracket and attach it to lock carrier.

–  Unbolt idler rollers -1- and -2- and remove bolt of toothed belt guard -arrow-.

–  Remove bolts -1 ... 6- and detach bracket for ancillaries.
Installing
Installation is in the reverse sequence of removal. Note the following:

Renew the bolts tightened with specified tightening angle.
–  Check that dowel sleeve at top right between bracket for ancillaries and cylinder block is fitted; insert dowel sleeve if necessary.
–  Tighten the bolts for the ancillary unit bracket → Anchor.
–  Install toothed belt (adjust valve timing) → Chapter.
–  Install the alternator → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.
–  Install engine mountings → Chapter.

Bracket for auxiliary units: Tightening torque and tightening sequence
–  Insert securing bolts for ancillary bracket as follows:
t  Bolts -1- and -2- M10 x 52.
t  Bolts -5- and -6- M10 x 60.
t  Bolts -3- and -4- M10 x 30.
–  Tighten fixing bolts for the ancillary units brackets in the sequence -1 ... 6- in 2 stages as follows:
1.  Screw all bolts in to stop by hand.
2.  Tighten all bolts to 40 Nm.
3.  Turn bolts -3- and -4- 45° further.
4.  Turn bolts -1, 2, 5 and 6- 90° further.
–  Install the alternator → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27
–  Install high-pressure pump → Chapter.
–  Install front bolt of engine bracket → Item.
