Removing and installing air filter housing
Removing and installing air filter housing
t  Air filter housing: Removing → Anchor
t  Air filter housing: Fitting → Anchor
Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Base -VAS 6499-, see equivalent → Anchor

Removing
–  Open intake system cover by carefully releasing fasteners -arrows-.

–  Unclip lower air duct -2- by releasing retaining clips on left and right -arrow A-.
–  Detach lower air duct at mounting brackets -3-; swing lower air duct backwards slightly for this.
–  Disengage air pipe -1- from air duct (bottom) -arrow B-.

–  Separate the plug connection of the air mass gauge -G70--1- and the underpressure line-3-.
–  Open the hose clamp -2- and remove the hose to the exhaust gas turbocharger.
–  Loosen the screw connection of the air filter housing -4-.
–  Remove entire air filter housing.
Installing
Installation is carried out in reverse sequence; note the following:
l  Tightening torque → Chapter
  Note
t  Hose connections and air pipes and hoses must be free from oil and grease before fitting.
t  Use a silicone-free lubricant when installing the air hose.
t  Secure all hose connections with the correct type of hose clips (same as original equipment) → Electronic parts catalogue.

–  Disconnect water drain hose -arrow- from air filter lower part and clean dirt and leaves from connection and hose.
