  Note
t  After completing work on the exhaust system ensure that it is tension-free and remains at a sufficient distance from the bodywork. If necessary, loosen double and single clamps and align silencer and exhaust pipe so that sufficient clearance is maintained to the bodywork and the weight is evenly distributed over the supports.
t  Renew self-locking nuts.
   
1 - Warm air collector plate
2 - 10 Nm
3 - Lambda probe -G39-, 55 Nm
q   Apply high-temperature lubricant -G 052 112 A3- to thread only. The high-temperature lubricant -G 052 112 A3- must not get into the slots on the probe body.
4 - Exhaust manifold with precatalyst
q   Protect from damage by knocks and impact
5 - Gasket
q   Replace.
6 - 25 Nm
q   Replace.
7 - Suspension
8 - 25 Nm
9 - Front sleeve, tightening torque, 25 Nm
q   Align exhaust system when it is cold so it is free of stress before tightening clamp
q   Installation position → Fig.
q   Tighten bolted connections evenly.
10 - Goes to pre-silencer
11 - Front tube bridge
12 - Gearbox:
q   Protect from damage by knocks and impact
13 - 23 Nm
14 - Lambda after catalytic converter -G130-, 55 Nm
q   Apply high-temperature lubricant -G 052 112 A3- to thread only. The high-temperature lubricant -G 052 112 A3- must not get into the slots on the probe body.
q   The connector is located under the right hand side vehicle floor housing.
15 - Electrical connector
q   Four-pin
q   For Lambda probes after the catalytic converter -G130-
16 - 25 Nm
17 - 20 Nm
18 - 40 Nm
q   Replace.
19 - Bracket
20 - Exhaust pipe
q   With flexible connection (de-coupling element)
q   Do not bend flexible connection more than 10º - Risk of damage
21 - Cable guide

   
Installation position of the front clamp
–  Install the clamp so that the bolt end does not project over the clamp lower edge -arrow-.
l  Bolted connection must point to the right.
