–
| Attach the compressed air hose -1- (compressed air supply) to the supercharger system tester -V.A.G 1687-. |
Note If there is water in the inspection hole, drain it through the drain screw -6-. |
–
| Set the pressure to 0.5 bar using the pressure regulation valve -2-. |
Caution The pressure must not exceed 0.5 bar! Excessive pressure may cause damage to the engine. |
|
–
| Open the valve -4- and wait for the test circuit to be filled. If necessary reset the pressure to 0.5 bar. |
–
| Examine whether the load air system is leaking. Use hearing and sense of touch, as well as a leak detection spray -V.A.G 1842- and/or ultrasonic measuring instrument. |
Note t
| Assembly of hose connections with couplings → Chapter. |
t
| A small amount of air escapes through the valves into the engine. A pressure retention test can therefore not be carried out. |
t
| Before removing the adaptor, depressurize the inspection circuit by releasing the coupling of the adaptor -V.A.G 1687/5-. |
t
| The couplings and air hoses of the supercharging system must be free from oil and grease before assembling. |
