–
| Connect the compressed air hose -1- (compressed air supply) to the cooling system leakage tester -VAG 1687-. |
Note If there is water in the inspection hole, drain it through the drain screw -6-. |
–
| Set the pressure to 0.5 bar using the pressure regulation valve -2-. |
Caution The pressure must not exceed 0.5 bar. If the pressure is set too high this can damage the engine. |
|
–
| Open valve -4- and wait until test circuit is full. If necessary reset the pressure to 0.5 bar. |
–
| Check for leaks in the supercharger system by listening, feeling, using leak-detector spray or with the ultrasound measuring device -VAG 1842S-. |
Note t
| Assembly of hose connections with couplings → Chapter. |
t
| A small amount of air escapes through the valves and enters the engine. A pressure retention test can therefore not be controlled. |
t
| Before removing the adaptor, depressurize the inspection circuit by releasing the coupling of the adaptor -VAG 1687/5-. |
t
| The couplings and air hoses of the supercharging system must be free from oil and grease before assembling. |
