Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Torque wrench 2 - 10 Nm -VAG 1783-, see equivalent → Anchor

Removing
–  Remove the purging line -1-, disengage the activated carbon vessel -A- and remove upwards -B-. Move the activated carbon vessel to one side.
–  Push coolant hoses to one side and secure with cable ties.

–  Detach the connector for valve 1 of the variable valve timing -N205--1-
–  Unscrew bolts -arrows- and remove camshaft control valve 1 -N205-.

–  Unscrew bolts -1 to 5- and remove timing chain cover (top).
Fitting
Installation is carried out in the reverse order, noting the following:
–  Oil the seal and the O-ring with engine oil.

–  Tighten the bolts -1 to 5- by hand in the sequence specified:
–  Tighten the bolts to a torque of 9 Nm using the torque wrench socket 2 - 10 Nm -VAG 1783- and the 10 mm socket -V.A.G 1783/1-.
–  Install camshaft control valve 1 -N205- → Chapter.
