Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Drip tray for workshop hoist -VAS 6208-
Removal:
  WARNING
Hot steam/hot coolant can escape - risk of scalding.
The cooling system is under pressure when the engine is hot.
Cover filler cap on expansion tank with a cloth and open carefully to dissipate pressure.
–  Drain coolant → Chapter.
–  Remove ancillary bracket → Chapter.

–  Unscrew bolts -4 and 5- and remove the oil cooler -3- with the gasket -2-.
Installation
Reassembly is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
l  Tightening torques → Chapter
  Note
t  Renew gaskets and seals.
t  Secure all hose connections with the correct type of hose clips (same as original equipment) → Electronic parts catalogue.

–  Fit the oil cooler -3- with a new gasket -2-.
–  Install bracket for ancillaries → Chapter.
–  Fill up coolant → Chapter.
