t  In order to replace the centre and rear silencers separately, the connecting pipe can be cut at the marked point.
t  The cutting point is marked on the exhaust tube.
Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Chain pipe cutter -VAS 6254-, see equivalent → Anchor
  A26-0790
t  Plate work saw -VAG 1523B-, see equivalent → Anchor

Procedure
–  Cut the exhaust pipe -arrow 2- with the chain pipe cutter -VAS 6254- or the bodywork saw -VAG 1523B-.
–  During assembly, the double clamp -4- must be aligned at the side markings -arrow --1- and -arrow 3-.

–  Install the double clamp so that the bolt end does not project over the double clamp lower edge -arrow-.
l  Screw thread must face rear
–  Install and adjust without strain, the secondary silencer → Fig.

–  Align the rear silencer so that the measurements -a- are the same.
