t  Manual vacuum pump -VAS 6213-, see equivalent → Anchor
Test prerequisite
l  Ignition must be switched off.

Test procedure
–  First remove the active carbon filter breather hose -1- from its connection to the active carbon filter solenoid 1 -N80--2-.
–  Connect to hose -1- the manual vacuum pump -VAS 6213- as shown in the figure.
–  Operate the vacuum pump a few more times -VAS 6213-. Vacuum must not build up.
If vacuum builds up:
–  Check breather connection -3- located on bottom of active carbon filter -4- for soiling; clean if necessary.
If a vacuum does not build up:
–  Temporarily seal breather connection -3- and operate vacuum pump again several times. Vacuum must build up.
If a vacuum does not build up:
–  Renew activated charcoal filter.
