Removing and installing radiator
Removing and installing radiator
Removing:
–  Remove the sound insulation → Bodywork, exterior installation work; Rep. gr.50
–  Place drip tray for workshop cranes -VAS 6208- beneath engine.
   
–  Disconnect coolant hose -1- from radiator (right side) and drain off coolant.
–  Remove the air filter housing → Chapter.

–  Pull off coolant hose -arrow- from radiator (left) and allow coolant to drain.
–  Remove radiator cowl → Chapter.

–  Unscrew air duct on lock carrier -arrows-.

–  Unscrew bolts -1 and 2-.

–  Unscrew securing bolt -arrow- for coolant pipes.
  Note
Pull radiator away from coolant pipe bracket when unscrewing securing bolt.
–  Remove radiator upwards.

Installing:
–  Bring radiator into installation position and start securing bolt for coolant pipe bracket first.

–  Tighten bolts -1 and 2-.
–  Tighten securing bolt for coolant pipe bracket.
Further assembly in reverse order of removal.
l  Tightening torque, radiator to intercooler: 5 Nm
l  If the radiator was renewed, new coolant should be used.
