The bearing shells are assigned with the appropriate thickness for the cylinder block at the factory. Coloured points are used to identify the thickness of the bearing shells. |
The position of which bearing shell that should be inserted into which cylinder block is marked with identification letters on the lower sealing surface or face side of the cylinder block. |
The position of which bearing shell that should be inserted into which bearing cover is marked with identification letters on the crankshaft (bottom bearing shell). |
The first letter is for bearing cover 1, the second for bearing cover 2, etc. |
