| After a cold start (+5 °C … +33 °C temperature of the coolant) the secondary air system will inject air behind the exhaust valves for a maximum of 100 seconds. In this way, post combustion begins and, with it, the catalytic converter heating phase is cut. Activation is carried out by the Motronic control unit -J220-, using the secondary air pump relay -J299-. |
| For posterior starts (up to 96 °C max., engine temperature), the secondary air system will connect for 10 seconds each time and will be tested using the self-diagnosis. During this moment, the lambda regulation is activated. |
