| Disassemble the air filter. For this procedure, unscrew the bolts marked with arrows. |

| Unscrew the spark plugs. |

| Disconnect the Hall transmitter connector (ignition distributor). |

| Allow another mechanic to step on the accelerator all the way down. |

| Check the compression with the -V.A.G. 1381- or checking device -V.A.G. 1763-. |
Note! –
| The throttle must be activated until the device displays no increase in pressure. |
New: 10...15 bar overpressure Wear limit: 7 bar overpressure |
Authorised difference between all the cylinders: 3 bar |
