Fault reference table |
Note
t | The fault reference table is arranged according to the 5 digit fault indications appearing in the left hand side column. |
t | Explanations relating to the types of fault (for example: “Interruption/short circuit to earth”): → Fault reader operating instructions |
t | If components are identified as being faulty: First verify the cables and connectors to and from these components as well as the earth cables according to the current circuits. This step is especially important in cases when the faults are identified as being “sporadic” (SP). |
t | Following the elimination of faults, the fault memory should be erased. |
Message printed by the printer of the -V.A.G 1551- | Possible cause of the fault | Fault elimination |
No fault recognised | If there is a complaint: Self-diagnosis does not detect the problem | Continue fault finding according to the table included in the folder “Fault finding, engine” |
