Removing and installing four-wheel drive control unit -J492- Removing → Anchor Install → Anchor. Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter. Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Torque wrench 2...10 Nm -VAG 1783-

t  Drip tray for liquids -VAS 6208- Removing –  Switch off ignition.

–  Unplug connectors -1- and -2- at top of control unit. –  Place the drip tray -VAS 6208- → Anchorunder the final drive.

–  Screws out bolts -arrows-. Ensure that none of the parts fall when removing the control unit. –  Carefully detach control unit -A-.

–  Using pliers, carefully hold onto the valve that controls the opening of the clutch -N373--A- by the metal casing -arrow- and remove it. –  Remove the oil pressure and oil temperature sender -G437--B-.

–  Remove the seal from the casing for the valve that controls the opening of the clutch -N373--arrow-. Installing Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence; note the following:   Note

Valve seals have different inner diameters. t  -1- Inner diameter 11 mm. t  -2- Inner diameter 12 mm. t  -3- Seal on valve body.

–  First moisten seal -1- with Haldex oil and set on the coupling opening control valve -N373-. –  Then seals -2- and -3-. –  Press centring lips (Qty. 4) of seal -3- into groove.

–  Set new cover -2- on control unit -1-.   Note The cover fits in only one position.

–  Insert coupling opening control valve -N373--3- into control unit -1-.   Note The valve fits only in one position.

–  Insert oil pressure and oil temperature sender -G437--4- into control unit -1-.   Note The sender fits in only one position.

–  Carefully set control unit -A- in place and tighten bolts -arrows- to specified torque → Item. –  Oil level of Haldex coupling (2nd Generation), check and, top up where applicable, Altea XL 2009 ►, Altea XL Freetrack 2008 ►, Altea XL Freetrack 2009 ► → Chapter. –  Check oil level in Haldex coupling (4th Generation), check and, top up where applicable, Altea XL 2009 ►, Altea XL Freetrack 2008 ►, Altea XL Freetrack 2009 ►, Alhambra 2011 ► → Chapter.
