Front brake calliper: repairs > < High and low pressure testing

Work instructions
–  Unscrew defective brake line at brake caliper or wheel brake cylinder. Catch escaping brake fluid and dispose of fluid in the correct manner.
   
–  Cut the pipe in a suitable location (straight, accessible section) using the tube cutters -2-.
–  Remove the section to be replaced.
–  Lubricate the brake pipe surface.

–  Fasten brake line between clamping jaws -4- so that it extends approx. 50 mm beyond the jaws.
–  Clamp scraper -3- into a drill and place it onto brake line.
–  At slow drill speed and with gentle pressure on brake line, scrape coating off brake line.
The section that must be peeled is defined by the stop on the tool.
–  Pull scraper off brake line and remove scrapings.

–  Remove mole grips and slide threaded pipe connector -D- onto brake line.

–  Slide brake line -B- up to stop -A- in flanging tool.
  Note
When the Allen bolts are tightened the brake pipe should touch the stop, otherwise the edge will not be done correctly.
–  Tighten brake line in flanging tool until brake line can no longer be moved. Lift the stop -A- and tighten the Allen bolts with the elbow joint screwdriver -C-.

–  Screw spindle into flaring tool onto limit stop.
–  Rotate the spindle in the opposite direction.
–  Release the Allen bolts crossways.
–  Remove brake line from flanging tool.
–  Clean and check brake line and flanging head.
Briefly flush the section of brake line remaining in the vehicle:
–  Connect brake filling and bleeding unit -VAS 5234-, connect bleeder bottle hose to brake line flange and allow brake filling and bleeding unit -VAS 5234- to run briefly until a little brake fluid has run through.
–  Clean the brake pipe once more using compressed air.

–  Join the brake pipes using a coupling -E-.
–  Fit the pipes.
–  Bleed brake system → Chapter.
