  Note!
t  Release hand brake.
t  Press the pedal with the vehicle stationary.
1 - Spring plate
q   To remove press it against the spring and turn 90°
2 - Compression spring
3 - Brake shoe with lever for hand brake
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   Adjust hand brake → Chapter
q   Thickness: checking: → Booklet
q   Correspondance: → Parts Catalogue
Vehicles without ABS:
q   Brake pad thickness: 30.00 mm
q   Brake pad thickness: 5.00 mm
q   Wear limit: 2.50 mm
q   In case of wear replace both discs on the same axle
Vehicles with ABS:
q   Brake pad thickness: 40.00 mm
q   Brake pad thickness: 5.00 mm
q   Wear limit: 2.50 mm
q   In case of wear replace the discs of the same shaft
The linings can also be supplied without brake shoes
4 - Upper return spring
q   Release with spring pliers
5 - Lower return spring
q   Grease friction zones with lubricating paste, part no. G 000 650
6 - Draft spring
7 - Brake shoe
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   Thickness: checking: → Booklet
q   Correspondance: → Parts Catalogue
Vehicles without ABS:
q   Brake pad thickness: 30.00 mm
q   Brake pad thickness: 5.00 mm
q   Wear limit: 2.50 mm
q   In case of wear replace both discs on the same axle

q   Remove to check lining thickness
9 - Pin
10 - Brake back plate
11 - Allen head bolt
q   8 Nm
12 - Wheel brake cylinder

Vehicles without ABS:
q   Wheel brake cylinder: Ø 15.87 mm
Vehicles with ABS:
q   Wheel brake cylinder: Ø 17.46 mm
13 - Wedge
q   To remove and install the brake drum, press upwards and through one of the threaded openings for the wheel bolts → Fig.
14 - Push rod
q   Grease friction zones with lubricating paste, part no. G 000 650
15 - Contact spring
q   Release with spring pliers

   
Brake: retract
Work sequence
–  Press the wedge on the brake drum upwards with a screwdriver, passing through the threaded opening for the wheel bolts.

Wheel brake cylinder: checking for leaks
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Plastic wedge -U-30800-
Checking process
–  Dust sleeve with assembly wedge -U-30800-. When removing dust sleeve make sure it does not get damaged.
–  If brake fluid is found on the dust cover, replace the brake wheel cylinder.
