The brake pedal must be depressed with the engine running and the vehicle stationary so that full vacuum support is guaranteed.
–  Depress brake pedal
When brake pedal is fully depressed, a “click” must be audible in the brake servo; the mechanical brake assistant system is then activated.
–  The brake pedal can now be released and actuated with less force.
–  When the brake pedal is fully released, the brake assist system must release (no hydraulic pressure in the brake system).
The mechanical brake assist system cannot be repaired; the complete brake servo must be renewed.
